65 years ago today, for the first time in the history of humankind, the nuclear weapon was used against innocent civilians by America.  65 years ago today was Monday. At 1:30 am, early on Monday morning, August 6th in 1945, America’s B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay left Tinian Island in the western Pacific. At 8:05 am, the Enola Gay reached the sky over Hiroshima. 10 minutes later, at 8:15 am, the Enola Gay dropped the world’s first atomic bomb on the center of Hiroshima which had a population of 350,000.

We should focus attention on the day and time when America dropped the atomic bomb. 8:15 am. and Monday morning… Why did the Enola Gay carry out the world’s first atomic bombing at 8:15 a.m.? Why did the Enola Gay drop the atomic bomb on Monday morning? American Army knew Japanese schools held morning meetings on Monday morning. 8:15 on Monday was the time that schools started morning meetings. American Army knew school children would round up in schoolyards for morning meetings at 8:15 am. Therefore, American Army set the time of dropping the world’s first atomic bomb at 8:15 am, on Monday, August 6th. For what? To kill Japanese school children efficiently and to crush all hope in Japan’s future. As a result of America’s atomic bombing, 140,000 people out of 350,000 citizens of then Hiroshima died. Most of 140,000 people were children, women and elderly people. They suffered and suffered, and died in great agony. It is obvious that America carried out genocide against the Japanese people on the pretext of ending the war.

Only 3 days after the atomic bombing on Hiroshima, the world’s second atomic bomb caused the further humanitarian tragedy for innocent civilians of Nagasaki. American Army dropped new type of atomic bomb different from the bomb that they dropped on Hiroshima 3 days ago. 70,000 people out of 240,000 citizens of then Nagasaki died. While American Army dropped ‘uranium-type bomb’ on Hiroshima, they dropped ‘plutonium-type bomb’ on Nagasaki. America succeeded in developing two different types of atomic bombs. America carried out the experiment of two different types of atomic bombs on hundreds of thousands living human bodies in the confusion just before the end of the war.

Some people, especially Americans say, “The atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima ended the war. These two atomic bombs saved millions of lives that would have been lost through a long lasting war.” This is delusive sophistry to justify America’s hideous crime against humanity.

The people who believe that these two atomic bombs ended the war should recognize that America prolonged the war intending to drop atomic bombs on Japanese cities by presenting unacceptable terms of surrender against Japan. The people who believe that these two atomic bombs ended the war should recognize that there are rules even during wartime. America’s atomic bombing obviously violated the Hague Convention that prohibited attacks on civilians. The people who believe that these two atomic bombs ended the war should recognize that there are many people who still suffer atomic-bomb disease now, 65 years after the war. The people who believe that these two atomic bombs ended the war should recognize that there are the people who are called “children of atomic-bomb victims”. Why they who have no relationship with the war 65 years ago have to suffer atomic-bomb disease?

Atomic bombing is the worst war crime against humanity in human history. But American Presidents have never once visited Hiroshima or Nagasaki. No more Hiroshima, No more Nagasaki. Pearl Harbor once again!

Yasukuni Shrine – 1

Yasukuni Shrine – 1 August 13, 2008

On August 15th, Yasukuni Shrine (Yasukuni Jinja) is in the news every year. August 15th in 1945 is the day that Japan made an unconditional surrender, which led to the end of the Pacific War .

Just a week earlier, on August 9th, 1945, an American B-29 dropped the world’s second atomic bomb on Nagasaki City after Hiroshima City.  The second atomic bomb was different type from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima City. America had never carried out an air raid on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki before dropping atomic bombs. America planned atomic bombing with meticulous care intending to determine the effect of two different atomic bombs. Moreover, America set bombing target not at military facilities or industrial area but at densely-inhabited district where noncombatants (=civilian) lived. America dropped two different atomic bombs (plutonium type and uranium type) on about 590 thousand noncombatants’ heads(then population, Hiroshima=350 thousand  Nagasaki=240 thousand) . In Hiroshima, Over 140 thousand noncombatants were burned alive and died in great agony.  In Nagasaki, 75 thousand noncombatants were burned alive and died in great agony. Most victims were women and children and older folks who unarmed people not related to the war.

On August 10th in 1945, through the government of Switzerland, Japan protested strongly against the United States that used inhumane multicide weapons (=mass-destruction weapons) targeted at innocent civilian in defiance of international laws. It was obvious that the United States conducted experiments on human bodies intending to determine the effect of two different atomic bombs. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are what we should call unforgivable “Holocaust”.  We Japanese know well that many Americans try desperately to justify this unforgivable Holocaust far worse than Auschwitz, by framing the Japanese army up for various war crimes, including the Nanking Massacre and prisoner abuse.

GHQ (General Headquarters of the Allied Forces) took over NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai: NHK was the public radio organization then, and there were numerous regional private broadcast stations throughout the country.) and got NHK to start new radio program called “Shinso-Bako” (Shinso=truth, Bako=box) on December 8th in 1945. The radio program “Shinso-Bako” had been broadcast for 4 years and implanted Japanese Army’s various war crimes in the Japanese people’s mind.

The radio program “Shinso-Bako” was projected by CIS of GHQ (CIS: Civil Information and Education Section), CIS wrote scripts and dramatized them. GHQ brainwashed the Japanese people using the radio program “Shinso-Bako” and led the Japanese people to develop dislike for “Japan in pre-World War II”. The radio program “Shinso-Bako” was groundless black propaganda which misled the Japanese people into believing that the Allied Forces was the liberation army that had liberated the Japanese people from the domination of barbaric Japanese Army.  The radio program “Shinso-Bako”  was written in the book “Free the Japanese people from a spell of Shinso-Bako” (Sakurai Yoshiko).

Many Japanese people have become to know the truth of history and have been released from GHQ’s anti-Japanese brainwashing.  Not only the Japanese people but also the world see Iraq and Afghanistan.  Has the United States found mass-destruction weapons in Iraq yet? It’s obvious that the United States used mass-destruction weapons to justify the aggressive war against Iraq. It’s obvious that  the U.S. military committed torture on innocent Afghans systematically ignoring the Geneva Convention.  The United States is doing the same things in Iraq and Afghanistan as this nation did 63 years ago.  Successive presidents of the United States have never once visited Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Successive presidents of the United States have never once put an apology for America’s Holocaust into words. (to be continued)

New-Type, Cruel Bomb Ignoring International law
Imperial Govern-ment Protest to the Government of the United States.
August 10, 1945

With regard to the attack by a new-type bomb on the city of Hiroshima by a B-29 bomber on the 6th inst. the Imperial Government filed the following protest on the 10th inst. to the Government of the United States through the Government of Switzerland, and gave instructions to the Japanese Minister to Switzerland, Kase, to make the explanation of explanation of the same effect to the Inter-national Committee of Red Cross.

Protest against the Attack of a New-Type Bomb by American Airplane

On the 6th of this month, an airplane of the United States dropped a new-type bomb on the urban district of the city of Hiroshima, and it killed and wounded a large number of the citizens and destroyed the bulk of the city. The city of Hiroshima is an crdinary local city which is not provided with any military defensive preparations or establishments, and the whole city has not a character of a military objective. In the statement on the aerial bom-bardment in this case, the United States President “Truman” asserts that they will destroy docks, factories and transport facilities. However, since the bomb in this case, dropped by a parachute, explodes in the air and extends the destructive effect to quite a wide sphere, it is clear to be quite impossible in technique to limit the effect of attack thereby to such specific objectives as mentioned above; and the above efficiency of the bomb in this case is already known to the United States. In the light of the actual state of damage, the damaged district covers a wide area, and those who were in the district were all killed indiscriminately by bomb-shell blast and radiant heat without dis-tinction of combatant or non-combatant or of age or sex. The damaged sphere is general and immense, and judging from the individual state of injury, the bomb in this case should be said to be the most cruel one that ever existed.

It is a fundamental principle of international law in time of war that a belligerent has not an unlimited right in chosing the means of injuring the enemy, and should not use such weapons, projectiles, and other material as cause unnecessary pain; and these are each expressly stipulated in the annex of the Convention respecting the Laws and Customs of War on Land and artices 22 and 23(e) of the Regulations respecting the Laws and Customs of War on Land. Since the beginning of the present World War, the Government of the United States has declared repeatedly that the use of poison or other inhumane methods of warfare has been regarded as illegal by the pubic opin-ion in civilized countries, and that the United States would not use these methods of warfare unless the other countries used these first. However, the bomb in this case, which the United States used this time, exceeds by far the indiscriminate and cruel character of efficiency, the poison and other weapons the use of which has been prohibited hitherto because of such an efficiency. Disregarding a fundamental principle of international law and humanity, the United States has already made indiscriminate aerial bombardments on cities of the Empire in very wide areas, and it has already killed and injured a large number of old people, children, and women and collapsed or burned down shrines, temples, schools, hospital and ordinary private houses.

Also, the United States has used the new bomb in this case which has indiscriminate and cruel character beyond comparison with all weapons and projectile of the past. This is a new offence against the civilization of mankind. The Imperial Government impeaches the Government of the United States in its own name and the name of all mankind and of civilization, and demands strongly that the Government of the United States give up the use of such an inhumane weapon instantly.
